The Hope for Niger Delta Campaign (HNDC) was founded on the 4th August 2005 by the Nigerian born activist Comrade Sunny Ofehe.

It’s a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political civil organization whose primary aim is the restoration of hope and peace in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large. HNDC seek to take critical and unbiased issues facing all stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, with a view of presenting in a fair and constructive criticism as well as proffering alternative means of possible solution.

VISION: Hope for Niger Delta Campaign (HNDC) envisions a society where the environmental, economic and social rights of Niger Delta people and Nigeria at large are protected.

MISSION: Hope for Niger Delta Campaign (HNDC) is committed to empowering Niger Delta people at home and in the Diaspora and beyond to effectively address the environmental, economic and social issues that affect them.

Goal:  The overall goal of Hope for Niger Delta Campaign (HNDC) is to promote a sustainable society while addressing issues of Niger Delta region Injustices relating to environmental, economic and social rights of the people.

HNDC has created working relations with Dutch NGO organizations, such as Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth, but also donor organizations as Oxfam NOVIB and Cordaid as well as with members of the Dutch Parliament, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

HNDC is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. HNDC has created working relations with Dutch NGOs, such as Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth, UNPO, Global Defence for Human Rights, Institute of Environmental Security, but also donor organizations as Oxfam NOVIB and Cordaid as well as with members of the Dutch Parliament, European Parliament, EU Council and Commission. 

HNDC has organised many conferences including a Niger Delta Peace conference in The Hague February 2010 and the organisation of Ken Saro Wiwa 15th anniversary along with 8 other Dutch NGOs also in The Hague in November 2010. Prior to this events HNDC has organised events in 2008 and 2009 resepctively.

HNDC was invited to testify in the Dutch Parliamentary Hearing on CSR in West Africa at the Dutch Parliament in January 2011 and also in April 2011 HNDC was invited to speak at the European Union Parliamentary Roundtable on Corruption in the Niger Delta.
